At The Resultants, we take pride in helping businesses navigate growth and operational

challenges with fully customized solutions. But at the heart of every success story is the business itself - its leadership, its team, and its commitment to building something great.

Today, we’re excited to spotlight our partnership with Joe Greeley and Nimlok North, a company that designs, rents, and manages trade show exhibits across the U.S. and Canada. Joe leads a team of people who do their jobs amazingly well and really care about their clients.

After COVID-19 disrupted their business, Nimlok North committed to rebuilding with a focus on sustainable growth. Over the past 3 years, they have successfully strengthened their foundation, created a great company culture, and achieved record-breaking results.

Here’s more – straight from Joe.

The Challenge: Scaling Back Up After a Setback

I’ve been running this business for about 15 years. We’re a small, but highly specialized company. While anyone can build an exhibit, our real focus is on helping our clients drive their business forward through trade shows. Our job is to make sure their investment in a trade show delivers a return, whether that’s through branding, engagement, or lead generation.

When COVID-19 hit, our entire industry came to a halt overnight. We went from 100 miles an hour to zero. For a year and a half, we were just trying to survive, keeping a small team of five of us together in hopes that business would return. And when it did, it came back fast.

We were suddenly doing a massive amount of work with only a handful of people. Hiring and training new employees while keeping up with demand was overwhelming, and our systems and processes weren’t where they needed to be. We were stepping on each other’s toes, working long hours, and barely keeping up.

We needed structure. We needed a plan. We needed help.

The Solution: A Sustainable Approach to Business Growth

I had met Chad from The Resultants years ago and had been to a seminar or two, so when I realized we needed help, I reached out.

What stood out to me about The Resultants was their approach. They didn’t come in with a rigid system and try to force it on us. They took the time to understand our business, our challenges, and our goals.

Chad and Chris worked with us to figure out our priorities. Where were we right now? What did we need to fix first? What was the best way to get everyone on board?

One of our biggest concerns was growth. We didn’t want rapid, unsustainable growth that would create more problems than it solved. That’s just not any fun! We needed a plan for steady, manageable expansion.

The Resultants helped us define what that should look like and how we could achieve it in a way that didn’t burn out our team.

The Transformation: Structure, Strategy, and Success

Over the past three years, we’ve made major improvements:

Defining Business Priorities

We used to be so caught up in the day-to-day that we didn’t take the time to step back and look at the bigger picture. The Resultants helped us define our key priorities and focus our energy on the changes that would have the biggest impact. Instead of feeling like we were constantly putting out fires, we had a clear roadmap for what needed to happen and when.

Systemizing Operations

Before, we were just getting through the work however we could. Now, we have structured workflows, better onboarding processes, and clear measurables to track our progress. We’re no longer just reacting—we have a system in place that makes our work more efficient and less stressful.

Data-Driven Decision-Making

We used to make hiring and operational decisions based on gut feelings and immediate needs. Now, we have real data to guide those choices. We can see when we need to hire before we’re in a crisis and can plan ahead instead of scrambling at the last minute. It’s a completely different way of running the business, and it’s made all the difference.

Improving Workload Distribution & Collaboration

When business bounced back after COVID, our team was stretched to the limit. There was no redundancy - if one person was out, everything fell apart. Now, we’ve built in backup plans and cross-training so no one is irreplaceable.

We also redesigned our office layout to encourage more collaboration, which has made a noticeable difference in communication and efficiency.

People can actually take time off without feeling guilty or causing a bottleneck. It’s taken a huge weight off everyone’s shoulders.

Hiring the Right People

We knew we needed to grow the team so we could all re-establish some level of work-life balance.

At one point, we made a hiring decision based on urgency rather than fit. We needed someone fast, and we hired the only reasonably qualified candidate we could find at the time. When it didn’t work out, we realized we needed to approach hiring differently. We brought in a professional search firm to find the right Business Development Executive, and that person has been a game-changer for our team.

Over the past year, we’ve added five key positions, including a business development executive and an account manager who now handles a lot of our client relationships. That extra support has allowed me to focus on growing the business and creating a more valuable asset.

The Results: Best Year Ever

2024 was our best year ever. Revenue-wise, profit-wise, project volume—every metric was the highest it’s ever been. But more importantly, it didn’t feel chaotic.

In the past, when we were busy, it meant long nights, constant stress, and feeling like we were barely holding things together. This time, we were busy, but it was manageable.

Randy, who leads our operations, said it best: “We’ve never been busier, but I’ve never been this stress-free.”

We have the right people in the right seats, the right processes, and a plan for handling the workload. People aren’t burning out. We have balance. And for me, as a business owner, that’s priceless.

The Team Behind Our Team

Looking back, working with The Resultants has been one of the best business investments we’ve made.

We do the work, but they provide the structure, insight, and outside perspective to keep us moving forward.

They don’t try to force a square peg into a round hole. They work with us to build a system that makes sense for our company, not just some generic framework.

Chad understands our constraints as a small business. He pushes us when we need it, but he also recognizes what we’re up against. And the weekly consistency of working with him has been the biggest game-changer for us. That structure keeps us accountable, keeps us focused, and ensures that we’re always making progress.

If he weren’t here every week, we wouldn’t be where we are today. It’s that simple.

As we continue to grow, I feel confident knowing that we have the right foundation in place. Nimlok North isn’t just successful for today – it’s positioned for long-term success.
