Helping people and organizations grow and prosper is a passion that motivates me. Every person and every organization face challenges and obstacles that stand in the way of progress toward their goals. I’ve faced those challenges, stumbled and grown. Using my experience to help others overcome these challenges, grow faster and go further is deeply satisfying.
During my career in business, I’ve been blessed with opportunities to provide leadership inside
organizations as well as increasing leadership capacities as an outside advisor, facilitator, and
consultant. My time inside organizations in strategic leadership roles has provided a broad range of experience including the roles of Vice President, General Manager and Chief Operations Officer in industries as varied as insurance, manufacturing and telecommunications.
My work as a business advisor, consultant, and facilitator with small and large organizations, both for-profit and non-profit, has provided understanding the challenges leaders face and what it takes to be successful.
I have enjoyed working with The Resultants™ since 2013 as a Business Advisor because their values and goals align so well with my own. The Resultants help make big dreams a reality bringing alignment, rigor and discipline into the business to help it grow and prosper. It is especially satisfying to me to work teams and individuals to improve their leadership skills both in teaching formal leadership classes and training as well as in one-on-one coaching.
I am also the owner of Olson HR Consulting where I help business leaders identify, implement, and improve people and culture policies and practices.
When I’m not working, my wife Peggy, and I love spending time with our five kids and their families. I also and enjoy an active role in community leadership including at my church and in several local non-profits. I also, despite some harrowing accidents, I remain an avid road biker striving to hit my weekly miles goals. I’m an alumnus and fan of the University of Minnesota (Go Gophers!) and enjoy the rivalry with my Badger friends across the river in Wisconsin.
